This introductory taster session unravels what underpins good mental health in young children by exploring emotional and cognitive development.


This sessions is aimed at those connected to early childhood who are interested in learning more about child development and how brains are born and developed in the early years. 


By the end of the session you will have developed an understanding of:

  • The power of relationships and attachment in the first years of life
  • The complex internal working model of our brain, the functions of the brain and the developmental differences between boys and girls
  • Emotional literacy and the development of emotional expression
